This 8-1/2 hour course starts Monday January 24 2022 beginning at 8:30 am Eastern/New York time, running until approximately 5:00 pm. This is an in-person course in Orlando, Florida. Proof of vaccination is required, as is wearing of a mask at all times.
This is for the ILDA Laser Safety Officer (LSO) - Lasershows course described here. It is NOT for the Laser Operator, Laser Safety Inspector, or Audience Scanning courses which are separate, different courses.
The first half of the course is about 3 hours of in-person instruction, followed by a test that takes about 45 minutes. There is a lunch break of 30-45 minutes at a restaurant within walking distance. The second half of the course also has 3 hours of instruction followed by a second test lasting 75 minutes. After all tests have been turned in, the instructor goes over the answers. The total course time is roughly 8 1/2 hours.
Students will receive the LSO course manual and slide printouts in-person, as they arrive for the class.
